What are PEPID Nursing Care Plans?

PEPID Nursing Care Plan software is an interactive program that provides institutions with an online care planning tool that can be used to create and grade care plans online. The program contains an index of common medical and surgical care plans that can be used for student assignments or reference, and administrators and instructors can create custom institution-specific care plans. There are also links to PEPID’s built-in medical and nursing diagnosis references, and the program can be integrated with additional PEPID Nursing Student References.

Getting started

You’ll log in to RNCP using your email for the username and enter a password.
For more information about your account settings, go to My Account Settings.

After logging in, you’ll be on the Users page:

• Center pane – contains a list of students and instructors
  • NOTE: Students will be displayed in the system once the student has logged into RNCP and setup their account. Administrators/Instructors cannot add students or edit student account information.
• Left pane – contains an index of standard Care Plans that can be used for reference. The index also includes care plans that have been created by administrators and instructors.

My Account settings

The My Account page displays your account information including name, email, username and password.

To edit your account information:

1. Click the My Account tab
2. Click the Edit button
   
3. Type the new user information (e.g., Name, email, Username, Password)
   
4. Click Update or Cancel

Find users

The Users page displays a list of students and instructors.

• Sort – Select one sort option: All, PEPID, Institution
• User type – Select a sort option: All, Instructor, Student
• Search – Enter user’s name – page will display only name of user. Sort by first or last name

Add users

The Users web page is used to add instructors and edit instructor information. Note: Student information can be viewed on the Users page, but administrators cannot add students or edit student account information.

To add an instructor:

1. Click the + icon located on top right of screen. This displays the user information at bottom of page.
2. Type the new user information (e.g., Name, Username, Password, email address)
3. Click Insert or Cancel

Edit user information

The Users page is used to add instructors and edit instructor information. Note: Student information can be viewed on the Users page, but administrators cannot add students or edit student account information.

To edit instructor information:

1. Choose the user from the list and click the pencil icon. This displays the user information at bottom of page.
2. Click the Edit button
3. Type the new information (e.g., Name, Username, Password, email address)
4. Click Update or Cancel

Delete user

Users can only be deleted by contacting PEPID support at 888-321-7828 Option 2.

Create care plan

To create a care plan:

1. Click the Create button located above the index to open a blank care plan
2. Complete the fields of the care plan:
   
   • Enter Topic Name – Type the name of the care plan title
   • Category – Select the category (e.g. Cardiovascular). Saved care plans will appear in the index pane in the category selected.
   • Medical Diagnosis
   • Intervention/Implementation
   • Documentation
   • References
3. Click Save. Once saved, the new care plan will be added to the index. It will also be included on the Assign Care Plans page. You will be able to edit or delete the care plan as needed.
4. Click Print to print care plan.

Delete care plan

Care plans that have been created by instructors or administrators can be edited or deleted.

To delete a care plan:

1. Click on the care plan topic from the index.
2. Click Delete to delete the care plan.

Care plans that have been created by instructors or administrators can be edited or deleted.

To edit a care plan:

1. Click on the care plan topic from the index.
2. Click Edit
3. Save or Cancel changes to the care plan.

Find care plans

The Care Plans pane on the left of the page is an index of standard care plans based on NANDA diagnosis that can be used for reference – for assignments, at the bedside, or for reviewing cases or treatment plans.The index also includes care plans that have been created by the instructors.

Note: The standard care plans are for reference and can only be edited if they are assigned to the student.

Nursing Student Reference

The Nursing Student Reference tab opens the PEPID Online home page so you can access any additional PEPID nursing-specific suites that have been purchased for reference.

NOTE: To access, may need to update settings to allow pop-ups.
