What are PEPID Nursing Care Plans?

PEPID Nursing Care Plan software is an interactive program that provides institutions with an online care planning tool that can be used to create and grade care plans online. The program contains an index of common medical and surgical care plans that can be used for student assignments or reference, and administrators and instructors can create custom institution-specific care plans.

There are also links to PEPID’s built-in medical and nursing diagnosis references, and the program can be integrated with additional PEPID Nursing Student References.

Getting started

You’ll log in to RNCP using your email for the username and enter a password.
For more information about your account settings, go to My Account Settings.

After logging in, you’ll be on the Students page:

My Account settings

The My Account page displays your account information including name, email, username and password.

To edit your account information:

  1. Click the My Account tab
  2. Click the Edit button
  3. Type the new user information (e.g., Name, email, Username, Password)
  4. Click Update or Cancel

Find students

The Students page lets you view a list of all students and assign students.

NOTE: Students will be displayed in the system once the student has logged into RNCP and setup their account. Administrators/Instructors cannot add students or edit student account information.

To view details about each student, click the pencil icon.

Note: Instructors cannot edit student account information – only view the information.

Assign students

Only instructors can assign care plans to students.

To assign your students, go to the Students web page:

  1. Click the check box next to each of your students.
  2. Save each time you assign students.

Cancel button lets you cancel any changes to the page.

Assign care plans

The Assign Care Plans web page displays in the center pane an alphabetical list of all PEPID care plans and care plans created by the institution to assign to students.

To assign a care plan:

First step is to assign your students from the Students web page. For information, see Assign students.

Next step is to assign care plans from the Assign Care Plans web page:

  1. Choose the care plan topic from the list and click the pencil icon. This displays a list of students at bottom of web page. Scroll down to see the list.
  2. To assign the care plan, click the check box next to the names of the students or click ALL. Note: Only your assigned students that you selected on Students web page will display in the list.
  3. Save each time you assign care plan topics
  4. Cancel option lets you cancel any changes made to the page

Create care plan

To create a care plan:

  1. Click the Create button located above the index to open a blank care plan
  2. Complete the fields of the:
  3. Click Save. Once saved, the new care plan will be added to the index. It will also be included on the Assign Care Plans page. You will be able to edit or delete the care plan as needed.
  4. Click Print to print care plan.

Delete care plan

To delete a care plan that has been created by the instructor or administrator:

  1. Click on the care plan topic from the index.
  2. Click Delete to delete the care plan.

Edit care plans

To edit a care plan:

  1. Click on the care plan topic from the index.
  2. Click Edit
  3. Save or Cancel changes to the care plan.

Grade care plans

The Grade Students’ Care Plans web page displays a list of all care plan assignments for each student.

Sort allows you to view your list by - All, Graded, Not Graded, Not Yet Submitted

Note: Care plans created by students will not show in this list until they are submitted. Care plans created by students will be labled with ST at the end of the title.

To grade a care plan:

  1. Choose the student’s submitted care plan to grade and click the pencil icon. This displays the student’s care plan at the bottom of the web page. Note: If you select a care plan that has not been submitted, the ‘Not Yet Submitted Care Plan’ message will display.
  2. Click the Edit icon to open the care plan to grade
  3. Complete the fields:
  4. Click Save or Cancel

Find care plans

The Care Plans pane on the left of the page is an index of standard care plans based on NANDA diagnosis that can be used for reference – for assignments, at the bedside, or for reviewing cases or treatment plans.The index also includes care plans that have been created by the instructors.

Click Print to print standard care plan

Nursing Student Reference

The Nursing Student Reference tab opens the PEPID Online home page so you can access any additional PEPID nursing-specific suites that have been purchased for reference.

NOTE: To access, may need to update settings to allow pop-ups.
